And the Winner is....Bosisi!

And the Winner is....Bosisi!

We Won!!

As a fledgling entrepreneur (which hasn't changed), I am still navigating through business challenges, trying to reach out to consumers, retailers, and corporations to tout Bosisi's gorgeous line of products and important mission. It's part of the love of this startup life and I wouldn't want to do anything else. But getting recognized for doing good is a wonderful thing!
As you may, or may not know, Bosisi has been the official bag sponsor of the Derby Diversity Business Summit (DDBS) for the past two years and it has been a whirlwind experience, especially with Covid-19 preventing the event from being held in-person both years! You can learn more about DDBS and how it's bringing people together to discuss injustice, inequity and how we can do better to share our truths, support each other and meet amazing people here.
During the 2021 DDBS 3-day event we learned that Bosisi won an award!!!! I have to say, I was stunned and thrilled, of course! The annual DDBS Isaac Murphy Legacy Awards exists to promote understanding and cooperation among diverse-owned businesses and business leaders while advancing a culture of diversity within the workforce, supply chain, and market segmentation. The category in which Bosisi won is: People - An innovative solution for increasing diversity for people (business owner). Unfortunately I was not able to travel to Kentucky to accept the beautiful award but I received it in the mail so I can proudly display it in my home office. Thank you so much to my great friend and 'fellow' woman business owner Marcia Tarnoff for believing in me and Bosisi.

My exhale was huge. To be acknowledged for this award really solidified my motivation to keep going; to keep talking about our mission to help underserved women in South Africa; to continue to produce gorgeous, functional, long-lasting products.

Jean Cruguet, a French-American horse racing jockey who won the 1976 Triple Crown with Seattle Slew actually signed my award! Very special.
I can only be humbled and grateful and I thank all of you that support Bosisi in so many ways.
Let's keep it going in 2021 so we can Empower Women One Bag at a Time!
In humble gratitude,
Deana
